Arizona is known around the world as western cowboy country, and the state does have a rich and unique cultural history. Mining towns, old western saloons, and ancient Native American petroglyphs can still be found throughout the state. But modern day Arizona is much more than cowboys and Indians. Now the fifth largest city in the country, Phoenix offers world-class cultural amenities and a long list of things to do. Outstanding live music, theatre, museums, parks, golf, zoos, and dining are within a 30-minute drive of even some of the most outlying parts of the valley.

Phoenix is also within easy travel distance to all the best that the West has to offer. Ski trips to the Colorado Rockies, sunbathing on the California coast, boating on Lake Tahoe, gambling in Las Vegas, or even a piña colada in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico are all just a few hours away.

With the laid back culture, amazing weather, a healthy lifestyle, casual atmosphere, and warm, friendly people, it’s easy to see why so many people have chosen to make Arizona their home.
